This involved a complete overhaul of the department’s response protocols, changes which were seamless under Peterson’s leadership. In May of 2018, the City transitioned its in-house 911 dispatching services to Ramsey County’s Emergency Communications Center. Since his appointment as the White Bear Lake Fire Chief, Peterson has thoughtfully navigated significant operational changes. Peterson was appointed Fire Chief of the White Bear Lake Fire Department in September of 2017.
The Minnesota State Fire Chiefs Association (MSFCA) has selected White Bear Lake Fire Chief Greg Peterson as their 2021 Fire Officer of the Year (Population over 10,000).
